Yesterday, RIM announced that they are going to be putting out a tablet device called the BlackBerry PlayBook sometime in early 2011. While it's exact release date and pricing is not known, the specifications of the device are.
That's great news because the device can now be put up against the competition which includes Apple's iPad and the upcoming Samsung Galaxy Tab which will be available on all four major U.S. carriers sometime in the next few weeks.
Unfortunately, not enough is known about that rumored HTC tablet to be included in the comparison. So, let's get down to it, San Francisco.
BlackBerry PlayBook: 7 inch screen with 1024 x 600 resolution, BlackBerry tablet OS, 1GHz dual-core Cortex A9 processor, 1GB of RAM, 16GB or 32GB of storage, Adobe Flash 10.1 support, 3G connectivity with 4G in the future, 3 mega pixel front camera, 5 mega pixel rear camera, no GPS, Bluetooth 2.1.
Apple iPad: 9.7 inch screen with 1024 x 768, iOS 3.2.2 with iOS 4.2 coming in November, 1GHz Apple A4 processor, 256MB of RAM, 16GB, 32GB or 64GB of storage, no Flash support, 3G on AT&T and Wi-Fi models, no cameras, GPS on 3G only, Bluetooth 2.1.

So, what do you think? Which way are you leaning if you’re in the market for a tablet?
